District Convention - 31/03/2017 - 02/04/2017

The highlight of every year.. District Convention!! A group of our Key Club members (executives and general members) attended the Eastern Canada District Convention at Niagara Falls to participate in workshops, meet key clubbers from all over Eastern Canada, listen to inspiring speeches, and most important.. to have fun! We are also proud to say that A.Y. Jackson has won 9 awards, including 1st in the video contest, 3rd in traditional scrapbook, the single service award, and the most outstanding faculty advisor award!


Scotiabank Marathon - 16/10/2016

30 Key Club members went down to Harborfront to help out with Scotiabank's annual marathon with baggage check. The waterfront marathon allows runners to participate in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge to raise money to help create a stronger and brighter future for young people. The participants of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon raised over $3 million. The experience was a fun one for all, especially when cheering on all the runners!


Key Leader Camp - 21/10/2016

This year, four of our club members participated in the Kiwanis Key Leader Camp in Brantford. They learned the values of being leaders in their school and community, challenged themselves in workshops and activities such as a ropes course, and made many new friends! They recounted their stories and the lessons they learned with much passion and enthusiasm! All of them said it was a life-changing weekend that they will never forget!!

Key Club Kindness Week - 07/11/2016 - 11/11/2016

Every lunch, students could write a positive message such as "Keep on smiling!" on a sticky note and stick it onto our Kindness Wall. Then, the student could pick out a slip from the Kindness Box, which contained an act of kindness such as "Help someone open the door!" which they would then have to perform. Finally, the first 25 students every lunch were able to get get a free candy gram which they could write a nice message, and it would be delivered to their chosen person along with a lollipop!


Division Leadership Training Conference - 9/11/2016

A group of our Key Club executives attended the Divison 5 Fall Rally and Division Leadership Training Conference (DLTC) to participate in workshops and a wide range of activities. Workshops ranged from learning about interview skills to icebreakers, and one of our co-presidents, Eli, ran a workshop on how to make meetings fun! Participants had an opportunity to meet key clubbers from many other schools in the region, and it was overall an exciting night!


Holiday Cards - December 2016

Throughout December, the club members created handmade holiday cards for the senior residents at the Gibson Chartwell Retirement Residence. Every card was unique and included a personalized holiday message! The cards were then delivered firsthand by a small group of executives to the residents, which were received with much delight! It was an extremely heartwarming experience.


Colour Fest - 06/10/2016

The first fundraiser event of the year! Colour fest was a fun afternoon of activities, music, games, and lots and lots of colour! The event was inspired by all the color powder marathons that take place around the world. All the proceeds went to SCAW - Sleeping Children Around the World, and we raised over $300!

Holiday Hampers + Samaritan's Purse - December 2016

At A.Y. Jackson, every Christmas, the school partners up with the local police force in the Holiday Hampers where every homeform class collects necessities such as clothing, canned foods, and toiletries. These items are then donated to designated families who are financially struggling. Key Club parterned up with a homeform class to collect many items! Key Club also participated in the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child to collect items in shoeboxes to deliver to children in third-world countries.
